Hello. Somone else posted a similar question but i would like a little more info if possible. Our house is half cedar siding on the lower half and stucco on the upper. the siding is original and we want to carry the siding right the way to the top to restore its heritage. i guess i would need to put trapping onto the stucco? what kinda of strapping? just regular wood strips or plywood strips? what would i use to nail it to the stucco? and should i put tyvek hous wrap underneath or seal and weatherproof the siding? could anyone give me a little more help? thanks guys Bryan
Are you sure you'd be restoring its heritage? Many houses from early in the last century had two kinds of siding...are you sure your house was originally all cedar?
If it was, and you really want to do it right, you will remove the stucco and get down to the sheathing, and start with new siding from there.
