What is a fair labor charge (exclude the paint cost) for putting on a second coat by spraying or rolling? For example, let's say that the labor charge for the first coat of paint for a home is $2000. What per cent would a fair charge be for the second coat of paint? 30%($600) or 40%($800) or 50%($1000) or higher?

COME ON PAINTERS! Give me a ballpark figure so that I will not get taken.

Usually part of the "first coat" price is prep work such as sanding, scraping, caulking, filling holes, etc. Based on your number of $2k, I would expect a 2nd coat to run $800 to $1000 depending on # of windows and doors involved. That is where you get labor intensive.
