Hello! Can anyone help me Please?

I was watching a HGTVpro video on the subject of rain screen principles and stone veneer panels.
I saw a guy attaching a composite sideing panel which looked like a dressed sandstone block when finnished.

This Panel had metal furring strips/metal battons attached to the back and this was then screwed on to the OSB panels of a stud frame wall, therby avoiding the use of extra timber battons on the exterior OSB wall.

Can anyone tell me the name of the stone veneer product and who makes it.

Many thanks!

Hi Ty,

I am also very interested in this cladding system. I hope some board user can provide us with an answer. I am building a home where annual rainfall is 58 inches.

Best Regards,

Thank you LA Marlowe, but no, it is not on that web site. Here's how to find it:

Best practices videos.

Exterior finishes, 4th video (play list 4?).

Rain screen principles (drainage plain).

When attached, they look like large and expensive, sandstone dressed blocks (16 x 10)?.

They could be composites or vynal siding
panels or blocks.

Have a look, see what you think.

Cheers!!

Thanks joe!
I have been and still am searching the web for this self fitting cavity wall product, but the only ones I can find there are 'directly fixed' using either mortars, glues or screws.

I need this particular product because it does away with vertical or horizontal timber battons/furring strips whilst still creating a drainage plain behind the panel.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers!

TY GWYR,

Try these 2 sites and see if they help;

http://www.toolbase.org/TechIn...ContentDetailID=1020

http://www.benjaminobdyke.com/...duct/key/homeSlicker

I live in an area with 58 inches of rain a year, I understand your interest.

TY GWYR,

On last site. This one has a product that does not use furring strips;

Thanks outlier!

I also have contacted HGTV direct, they say that nobody in the company knew the answer.

The reason that I am particularly interested in this product is because I live in South Wales, United Kingom, it rains here for three quarters of the year, every year.

The superiority of this product is that it does away with the need for buying and fitting extra timber battons/furring strips and thus saves time and money. It also looks simple to fit, and would work well with a SIPs OSB panel.

I had a look at the web sites you suggested, but I could not enter the first 2 sites and the others are not quite as simple as

'the product with no name'.

Keep looking! Dont give up!

I will post as soon as I find it, or I will send you my abittuary, which ever comes first!

Thanks, Good luck and best wishes.

TY GWYR

I found a Novabrik supplier locally. I definitely will check it out. I live in NE Louisiana, very rural. Some technologies just aren't practical because service repair is too distant. Any DIY technologies have appeal. Try;

http://www.toolbase.org/

They have lot's of new technologies reviewed.

Thanks very much for your help.
