I live in the hot, humid Southeast - Tennessee to be exact - and need to reside my entire house. Original covering is Masonite, which has deteriorated to the point it needs to be replaces. My question is, what would be the best siding to put on my raised ranch style house here in Tennessee? I will not replace with more Masonite - I don't believe that product is correct for this environment. Cost and product availability are issues as well.

Vinyl siding would suit your climate well and suit your pcoket book.

It can be installed directly over the Masonite.
