I have cedar siding (VT) on my 10 yr old house. The siding is stained. Each year I have to scrub and re-stain the siding due to mold forming. Any suggestions for a better stain or should I recoat with paint instead?

Mold or mildew?

There are mildewcides that can be added to paint. I'm not sure if they can be added to stains. Your paint store can tell you.

Does it occur all over, or just on the north side? Are there trees or shrubs crowding the house and keeping sunlight off?
