I have a fireplace that I would like to remove. It has not been used for many years and had been boxed in. It is located in between our kitchen and dinning room and we would like to open everything up. It is in a single story section of our house so I don't think it will be too hard but I was wondering if anyone has ever done this and if there are any concerns I need to be aware of. I don't beleive there are any load bearing issues that I need to be concerned with. One of my big concerns is patching the roof once the chimney is dismantled below the roof line. If anyone has any suggestions or tips I would greatly appreciate it.
