We are building a new home. We have 6" can lights at the bottom of each peak on our house. We wanted 3" but it is too late to change all of the light canisters because they have already been installed and wired. CAN WE SOMEHOW PUT 3" LIGHTS INTO A 6" OPENING? ARE THERE SPECIAL RIMS THAT CAN CONVERT THE OPENING FROM 6 TO 3?

I know of no special rings that would make the light fit in such a large hole. The best way is to patch the hole by cutting out a square from joist to joist then patch with new sheetrock spackle and paint. Lot of work but looks best once done.
