How would I charge for Mud&taping owners drywall in a 12x15 livingroom? owner has put up the drywall, but doesnt want to do the Mud&taping. I told her that to do it proper, it would have to be done in 3 sessions. Please help me with pricing this. thank you

With taping you have to know what you are doing before taking on the project. It isn't a trade you can fake and pull it off. I've fixed a few of those lately. Now, on a project that small I would normally estimate my time taping (fast setting mud) followed by a fill coat. Next day finish coat. next day sand/texture. Add the hours up, multiply by the hourly rate of your choice. I stay around $30-$40. If it takes longer than estimated you're still covered. If it takes less time...great! Remodels I figure hourly or lump sum. New construction by sq.foot, lump sum. good luck!!!

for a room that small you should be able to get it done in a day if it is a sqare room w. 4 inside corners, 8ft ceiling and they used 12' and 16' rock... if they did it themselves, and there are twice as many seams it may take longer, and how are their corners, tight or open? all screws set properly?

in nj, a job that small, if i was pretty sure i could knock it out in a day by myself id prob do it for no less then 800, more depending on how bad they butchered it.

oh yea, and did they run the boards horizontal, or vert? if they used 8' boards and laid them vert your gonna have about 13 tapered seams and at least 3 but seams and id prob charge 12-1400 to finish if that was the case?

but looking at all your posts i bet youll do it for 4-600
