we fill the scows (2,usually) with 4,000 cy of material each, lash them securely to the dredge -which is spudded down in a somewhat protected area, batten hatches, dog the doors, store everything loose, and hang on..the dredge is a terrific spot to safely feel the storm's fury.
i suspect you were looking for more traditional land-based jobsites, but that's how we do it on the dredge.
