With the increase in gas prices, combined with the impending need for building materials in areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina, do you expect to see an increase in the price of building products? If so, how will you deal with the higher costs?

More "cost plus" pricing.

Clauses in contracts that allow for price increases for labor and materials.

Shorter acceptance periods for fixed price bids.

No more free estimates.

Many of our suppliers are already adding gas surcharges to our materials delivery. Although we have been able to get bids that are good untill the end of Sept., we will probably be looking at even higher prices when the rebuilding of the cities damaged by Katrina starts. We will surely have to adjust the prices of our homes within a few months.
