I'm getting ready to install backerboard and time our brick fireplace. With the tile we've chosen, the fireplace opening is about 1/2" smaller than "ideal", in terms of a whole number of tiles and grout lines. It seems like it would be that hard to use a tile/masonry blade and grind away the 1/4" on each side.
Am I underestimating the challenge here?

thanks
