This is my first post, so please forgive me if I do not ask my question correctly or if it is in the wrong place.

I am moving in with my aunt and we want to turn her attic into another living area. It is 28'x33', a peek roof, and bare with 2"x6" beams. I think I have the floor and insulation pretty much understood use baseboard, but I'm having trouble with the ceiling and vertical walls.

The think the walls should be no problem with a basic frame, insulation, and drywall. As for the ceiling, the insulation is not much of an issue as is the type of ceiling that should be put up there. It is not a flat ceiling (peeked shape following the roof).
Is drywall normally put on ceilings? If so, what thickness? If not, what are my other choices?
I've looked at the panel ceilings, like schools and offices have, and that's just not what we want. I just want to know what can be put up there and not be scared it's going to fall on our heads.

Any Suggestions to help a girl out?
