I'm planning to remove a 19' long bearing wall in my basement to open up the space and I need to know if an I-beam will hold the weight of the house for such span.
Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Way to many unknowns to answer here, check with a structural engineer or architect who can come and verify site conditions. They are the only ones that can give you a reliable answer

An I-Beam is the way to go, but an engineer will tell you what size exactly, and where the support posts will need to be placed under it, and whether you will need to beef up the footings those posts might sit on.
