There has never been a window film product that has received approval from the Florida Building Commission.
While window film may keep your window shattering outright, it would be a far stretch to say that it is an alternative to traditional hurricane protection products such as storm panels, accordion shutter, or true impact resistant glass. The latest product to shake the market is the Storm Catcher Hurricane Wind Abatement Screen. It IS a Florida Building Code approved product, blocking 97% of all wind and rain while allowing you to see you. It is lightweight, easy to put up and take down, and available in direct-mount, strap & buckle, and roll-down versions. Visit www.StormCatcher.net to learn more.

Well both of the above measures are better than nothing when it comes to protecting your home from high hurricane winds. But will most people use these methods? I think not. Most people will use plywood or some type of storm panel. For these people they need to visit www.hurricanebar.net. This was made for plywood and storm panels. It's fast, easy, cost effective and only takes a single person to install. Most of all it works! proven by it's success through Hurricane Ivan.

Hurricane Window Film can help. Even though it can't prevent your window from breaking, it can prevent it from shattering and keep it in place. This way you don't have shards of glass flying around and injuring anyone. http://www.enprodistributing.com Enpro Distributing has more information on this topic and they also sell the window film
