We used to have a terrazzo floor in an old home in Florida. In the kitchen there were two different colors, one around the perimeter and another throughout center area. The division line between the two colors was a thin line of copper, and it really was a nice detail. We live in Minnesota now and are looking to put a dark gray slate throughout the kitchen. The perimeter will be a standard grid, with an interior area on a 45 degree angle. We were toying with the idea of using some kind of copper (maybe an inch or so, or less) as a division between the two patterns rather than a border of some other stone.
Kind of radical, but certainly unique. Pricing aside, can anyone comment on if they've seen anything like that before with good or bad effect? The base flooring is concrete, and we're considering electric floor heat for this room.

Thanks, -R
