we have had a problem with our tile breaking. last year we had a problem with condensation .we did not have enough air flowing under our house.it buckled our floor in the living room, our kitchen is open to it where we are having the problem with the tile.we have put more vents in foundation which has solved our problem with condensation.except for our tile in the kitchen is breaking and to me it looks like the floor has got a roll in it. my husband has been under the floor and says he sees no sign of buckling. we have replaced the main floor in the living room only.how can we tell if the rest of the floors need to be replaced because of this?

Did you tile directly over the plywood subfloor? If not, tell me exactly what you did to prepare the subfloor for tile.

NO- We put the concrete boards down first.Screwed it down and then laid the tile.

Did you use thinset between the cement board and subfloor? Also, specifically, what thinset did you use to set the tile?

yes we did but I don't no what kind it was it's been 8 years ago but I can tell you I got it from where I purchased the tile. It was purchased from a store that just sold tile and anything to do with tile they sold. buy the way are you calling thinset the stuff under the tile to bond it to the concrete board? I hope so because that's what I'am talking about.

Yes, that's what I was talking about. I have a feeling you're going to have to have someone physically look at it to determine the problem, because from what you've told me so far, everything was done right. But obviously, that's not the case. There's got to be a problem either with bond or with isolation from structural movement. What I suggest you do is go to the following link and get in touch with an organization called TCA Team. They'll send an expert to your home to inspect the floor and tell you why you're having this problem:
