I was not sure what category to put this is. This is important for anyone considering a modular home purchase in IL. If you are not in IL, then mention this to your State Representative and Senator.

As a direct result of my very bad experiences with Liberty Homes, Inc. (modular home builder) and Woodale Homes, Inc (their dealer), House Bill 1142 was sponsored. On August 25, 2009, IL Governor Pat Quinn approved House Bill 1142, the Illinois MODULAR HOUSING BUYER PROTECTION ACT. Effective date is January 1, 2010. This Bill was originally sponsored by IL State Representative Mike Tryon in the House, and then IL Senators Pamela J. Althoff, James F. Clayborne Jr., Don Harmon, and Linda Holmes sponsored it in the Senate. The vote would have been unanimous, albeit 1 Representative.
