Hi
I live in an apartment and my rent is about 1/2 of market rate because i make up the difference by remodeling/improving the place. it's a 2 unit home, i have the entire upstairs & the landlady lives down.
My entire bathroom is long but quite narrow with a door at one end and a window at the other. the commode is on the back wall, and there is a tub next to it running lengthwise out from the back wall draining into the outside wall - clear as mud eh?

i say all this because i want to ditch the tub - the glazing is worn out. i want to replace it with a shower, but have to work around the window on the back wall, so a standard pan/enclosure wont really work.
i'm trying to find a material that is waterproof, easy to clean, kid safe, and relatively inexpensive - cause i'll pay and i'm not rich.
glass is expensive, tile is a headache, is slate a mold problem?
can i get custom sized fiberglass panels?
i've thought about using the plastic sheets that are used in restrooms/non-heat areas of commercial kitchens - but the bubble texture seems like a cleaning nightmare ...
have i missed something? can someone recommend something?
thanks in advance for your kind attention
