Hi, I just bought a house located in central Arkansas. It was built in 1975 and it has vaulted ceilings. I have noticed that there is a dark substance resembling mildew or mold located on the soffits. I am trying to figure out if this is due to improper ventilation as there are no soffit vents anywhere on the house. Here is a picture of one of the dark spots:
