I have a 100 year old house that has no insulation under the floors( crawl space). What would be the best insulation to keep house warm during the winter, icyene or batten insulation? I live on gulf coast and was blessed not to have lost my house to Katrine,& would not want to lose it to wood rot due to moisture problems!

Best you ask a local architect or GOOD contractor who is familiar with Gulf Coast practices and conditions. What we do here in the Northeast will not be appropriate for your region.
