My home is about 5 yrs old. I have been asking locally for advice on the varying ways to insulate the attic over the garage(connected to house)which is a standard two car garage with a single door spanning both sides. The questions I started with was which is the best way to insulate the attic side of this project? I was told to spray the roof underside even though the rest of the house is done in between the attic floor joists. Then I was told to insulate the attic flooring above the garage prior to putting down any flooring. I understand the concept behind not crushing the insulation under the floor(which I still need to install)requardless of the type of insulation used. I only have a door access panel and understand how to take care of it thanks to a new idea given to me from one of your other videos. Thanks for any and all help you may all provide! KA
What effect on the HOUSE temperature will insulating an unheated garage have? Most likely none!!
In any case, if you want to insulate the garage, the best place for the insulation is between the ceiling joists, especially if you're in a cold climate. You want, in that case, to keep the underside of the roof COLD.
