Hello,
I am strongly considering starting a spray foam insulation business. I am currently a liscensed building contractor in Florida and would like to offer this service to my customers. I am looking to get an idea of the demand for this product and also if I should buy a packaged rig or piece the equipment together myself. I would also like some oppinions on whether or not to spend a little extra on the proportioner so I could enter the pipe & tank coating business or just stick with residential foam insulation.
Thank you,
Justin

I didn't know you even needed insulation in Flordia... Big Grin I guess I would ask why not just call someone who specializes in it to do your spraying? We use closed cell polyurethane foam on most of our houses and can tell you that I would never consider doing it myself, I always sub it out to someone with quite a bit of experience. It takes time to get good at spraying this stuff, I have seen first hand some of the work of the "new" guys and it wasn't pretty. As for the demand, here in MN it's becoming more and more popular and the guy I use is extremely busy. I really have no idea what the demand would be in florida though.

Justin,
I am considering getting into this business as well. Would you like to connect via phone compare notes and discuss alternatives. Lots of alternatives (closed cell/open cell/slow rise etc...) I would like to discuss your research.
thanks

Atlanta

Of course you need insulation in Florida! Instead of keeping the cold out, you want to keep it in.
