I need some help. We had blown in cellulose insulation installed about 6 weeks ago. Now, every morning that I go to the back yard -- the pool is covered in dark ashy looking film. i have a solar attic fan in the back of the house and a gable vent facing the pool. How can I stop this from happening? And should this be happening? Thanks

Jeff

What is happening is that the insulation is finding small openings in the soffit areas or as you say out the fan opening. Anytime any air blows in the attic some of the stuff is blowing around and leaking out.
I would suggest that the people that put the insulation in come and evaluate this occurance. While it may occure for a very short while as things settle down, six weeks one would think is a little long of a time for this to happen.

Maybe fiberglass insulation could be placed over to keep this from happneing. It really should settle down on it own, unless the fan is so powerful it's picking it up and pushing it out?
