I installed a new asphalt shingle roof last fall, and have a leak. There is an evaporative cooler on the roof, and the leak appears about 1.5 feet below the duct going through the roof. From on top of the roof, the shingles look fine. I have sealed around the edges of the duct and don't believe any water is leaking there, as I would seen moisture around the duct and wood if water was coming in there.

The water tube that feeds the air conditioner used to go straight through the roof, and the leak occurred at this hole as well, but also laterally as far as 5 feet away.

I recently removed the water line going through the roof, then filled, and covered the hole with a couple layers of tar, and tarred around the hole for about a 1 foot diameter. The roof is still leakingin this area. Is it possible that the water is still getting through that tarred hole, or is the leak somewhere else?
