I am putting a roof on for my neighbor, she currently has a overhang on the front of her house and would like me to add overhangs to the back and gable ends.what is the best way to do this?I have a pretty good idea but just thought I would seek another opinion.this is a 4/12 pitch,witch had to have sheeting replaced do to rot.Thanks for looking

It is relatively easy to add onto the rafter ends by slabbing on a 3 foot or so extension; enough to attach securely to the existing rafters plus 12" or whatever she would like for the new overhang. The gable ends are a little more trouble but still doable. Here is a link to an older discussion on the same topic. Good luck!
