I have a house that is about 10 years old. We have a problem with some condensation on the ceiling just under the attic. My husband insulated the floor in the attic but not the roof, could this be causing the problem? Thanks for any help, Tracey

First of all is your attick living space? Most of the time I've seen this is when your attick temperature is cold and your drywall ceiling is cold on one side and the other side is warm on your living side. Now this could be caused by cold air blowing across your ceiling through a hole some where. but if it's a norman attick above living space, then you probably do not have enough insulation. Where I live in michigan the minimum I put in is 12" of blown cellulose, depending on what you already have I would recomend a 8" cap of blown cellulose. You can also check if there is any water lines in that part of the ceiling, or waste vent pipes that could be cracked and leaking condensation on your ceiling. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me.jjanderson@nomadinter.net

This could be a number of problems. Are there vents near? Roof leaks? Plumbing around? Ceiling fan in bathroom? Feel free to email me at john@ripbugs.com or www.ripbugs.com
