I've seen some of the pros and cons about the two, but if price and humidity are not issues which one would be better? Also, I've seen conflicting statements about the faux wood being lighter than real. I had a sample of a faux wood product and it seemed to me thicker. Maybe each slat is thicker but overall the entire unit is lighter. Without actually having two blinds to compare, I'm feeling a bit confused. Any thought?
real wood is always better. The value is how long the product lasts. While faux offers more styles and colors, you cannot beat the quality of real wood. When buying blinds your investing in the home, not just making it look good. These items are often left when selling as they are custom built in many cases to fit the window properly. Buyers do not want Faux when buying. In addition real wood can be re-finished in the future as well as re-built if the cords or cloth ribbons are damaged. Good luck with getting the faux stuff fixed.

Thanks, I was leaning towards the real wood blinds. Now I just have to decide on a brand and a color but at least I can eliminate the faux wood group. Thanks, again.
