THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE FEAR FACTOR VIDEO IN THE CONTRACTOR'S STORIES . AS A PLUMBER I HAVE TO GO UNDER QUITE A FEW CRAWL SPACES. ON ONE OCCASSION HOWEVER, IT WAS ENOUGH TO REALLY GIVE ME "HEEEBIE JEEEBIES". AN OLDER LADIE ASK US TO COME OUT BECAUSE SHE KEPT HEARING A WATER LEAK UNDER THE FLOOR. SO I PROCEDED TO CRAWL UNDER THE FLOOR, ON MY BELLY WITH ONLY A SMALL OF AMONT OF CLEARANCE BETWEE THE DIRT AND THE FLOOR JOISTS. I KEPT HEARING A THUMPING NOISE AS I MADE MY WAY TO THE BACK OF THE HOUSE IN SEARCH OF THIS LEAK. AS I MOVED MY FLASHLIGHT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE THUMPING NOISE, I SAW ,TO MY SURPRISE, A VERY LARGE SNAKE WITH A SMALL WHITE DOG HANGING OUT OF ITS MOUTH. THE THUMPING WAS THE SNAKE SWINGING BACK AND FORTH TRYING TO SWALLOW THIS LARGE SNACK. I GOT THE HECK OUT FROM UNDER THERE. TURNS OUT THE LADY WAS LOOKING FOR HER LITTLE DOG ,SNOWBALL, AND THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS WERE LOOKING FOR THERE 12 FOOT BOA CONSTRICTOR. SEEMS THEY MET SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE. THE PLUMBING DIDNT FIXED UNTIL THE SNAKE WAS CLEARED OUT AND SO WERE MY DRAWERS.
Hooo-EEE! I don't mind snakes, but that would've freaked ME out! Esp. the poor pup! IS this a thread about scary stories in the construction world?
Hmmm: I was once doing some landscaping at my mother's, breaking up clay and stones w/a pickaxe. It was a crowded area on a lakefront and the weird next-door neighbor had a high bedroom window with a balcony. I was in mid-swing and chanced to look up. There he was, standing on the balcony, stark *****, smiling down at me! I almost lost my lunch! I would have called the cops but he knew them all!
