I just watched the commercial vs. residential video and just have to say, Amen. An architect looking over my shoulder, or engineer, is much easier to put up with than with Mr. Jones. It should also be said how the homeowner likes to talk to the contractor. We all know that time is money, but you can not tick the customer off by being rude.

Wow- as an Interior Designer, I'd like to know where to get the jobs with the 20% gross and a BMW!! My poor van gets the gambit of stuff to haul--and I often end up with drywall paste or paint on my clothes. I've swept up trash on a job site -just to keep the job flowing. I do construction tracking (specifying, management-whatever you call it in your area), so am checking on construction or remodel jobs in the muck and weather-although I do not generally stay at one site all day (unless it is a walk-thru). I have good rapport with most of my guys (except that HVAC are the bane of most desiners). However, I have a good one now that won't run a return duct without mapping it out with me.Most of my contractors like that they know my clients have made choices and it is on computer when they need it. It is nice that you get to work with an clients with ascotted designers, but most of us are just like you--trying to make a living. Besides-what do you care what color goes on the walls--you're not going to live in it!!!
