I'm having significant trouble finding experienced licensed installers for residential domestic on demand hot water heaters (LPG fired) in southwestern Ct. Is there something about this system that makes it prohibitive for this part of the country? Any ideas on how to get such a system installed as a replacement for the standing tank, etc.?

Are you having a problem finding someone who is certified by a specific on demand hot water heater, or just a plumber? Any plumber can install one of the units. Just don't get picky if they haven't installed one before(I mean, don't expect a sloppy job but don't get scared if they haven't done one). It isn't much different than a regular water heater.

Some on demand water heaters require a larger vent pipe. Lowe's should be able to install one for you. they sell them and they do install.
