When you turn on the water in the bathtub the pipes in the wall make a very loud noise and the wall shakes.HELP?? Smiler

Few things come to mind.
Water pressure to high
The mixing valve in the faucet is defective or has sand in the valve causing the water to turn on and off at a very high rate causing the noise.
If there was nothing changed in the basement and its an older valve I would suspect the valve is at fault. Normally a simple fix.

sounds like a loose washer on one of the stems if it is a two handel type?
