I need to patch a wall in my house and i noticed that the heating system's water pipe which goes to the second floor is in a wall cavity which also has an electric wire.
Is this safe? Is there anything i can do to minimize any dangers? Or do i need to get an electrician or plumber and have one of the two moved?
Very common to find wires and pipes in the same chase area. The only thing you need to be concerned about is that the wires are not touching the pipes. If that is the case, simply fasten the wires with a plastic wire tye and secure them from touching the pipe. If you do not feel comfortable doing this a electrical contractor can do this for you for a fee.
The water pipes do not get hot enough to do any real damage other then dry out the covering of the wires in question. Vibration and heat from the pipes could lead to a crack in the covering of the wires and cause a short. Which is why they should not touch. A inch or so space is fine between them.

There is nothing in any plumbing nor electric code that prohibits water supply pipes and branch circuit wiring from occupying space in the same stud cavity.
