Hi, I have a basement bathroom in my new house that used to have a shower and a toilet, but not just has a toilet and a drain where the shower used to be. I don't need another shower, but I want to turn the drain from the old shower into a new sink drain.

The trap for the shower drain is under the concrete, and I'm not sure how thick the concrete is down there. What would be the best way to do it? Should I score it with a circular saw with a concrete blade and then sledge hammer out the concrete? Is there an easier way to turn the drain into one I can use for a sink? Should I just seal it off and tie the sink into the stack that goes upstairs to the other bathroom?

Thanks for any help!

Ogre, it depends on where you want your sink, obviously. It seems you have a couple of options. You could tie into the one that comes from the upstairs bathroom or you could tie into the vent in the wall for the shower. You could also tie into the toilet vent if close enough. Without seeing your setup, that is the best advice I can give.
